What is supplied with a cabin rental?
All cabins come fully equipped with all cooking, serving and eating utensils. Cabins have propane stoves, electric fridges, and cold running water. The Hillbilly is the only cabin with hot water and full private bathroom. When you rent any one of the cabins you will get the use of one rowboat and electric motor.
Do you have power?
Yes, but not full-time. The power is supplied by a generator from 7am – 10pm. Then some solar lights come on inside and outside of the cabin for approximately 2-3hours.
There are portable generators available for $10 per night for the use of a C pap machine ONLY.
What about beds and bedding?
The beds are made up with fresh fitted sheets, pillows and pillowcases for each guest. Bring your own blankets/bedding or sleeping bags. If you forget your bedding it can be rented for an additional fee.
What about bathrooms?
All of the 1 & 2 bedroom cabins rely on a central washhouse with hot showers and flush toilets. Portable potties are available upon request.
What about drinking water?
The water at The Rustic Resort is supplied by underground spring and is therefore under a boil water notice at this time. There is a 5 Gallon water jug supplied for drinking water in each cabin, or you can bring your own drinking water. Additional bottles are available at the lodge for an additional cost.
Do you sell any supplies at all?
There is a small gift shop in the Thuya Lakes Lodge with flies, tackle, ice, chips, candy, water bottles, personal care items, things that you may have forgotten and of course our swag!
Do you sell fishing licenses?
No, they sold on the BC gov website.

This easy to do yourself online prior to arrival or someone can assist you at the lodge if you decide once you arrive that you want to fish.
What about outside fires and firewood?
Yes, there are fire pits outside of each cabin that can be used, if there is no fire ban in effect.
We supply a large bin of kindling and firewood to each cabin upon arrival. Additional firewood bins are $10 each (Bins are 18 GAL)
What about cell phones and internet services?
We have WIFI at the lodge which is available in designated spots while the generator is running, or to get service on your cell phone it is about 10k down the road. There is not cell service or WIFI in the cabins.
What’s the road like to the lodge?
This is a good rocky gravel forest service road with some potholes along the way. Take your time on the road and leave your sports car at home so you do not have a problem. We are 21k off the highway 24 pavement.
What about pets?
Pets are welcome, for an additional $20 fee. We ask that you don’t leave your pets unattended at any time during your stay. Dogs must be on a leash when outside of your cabin out of respect to the other guests. Please pick up after them and please don’t allow them on the furniture in the cabins!
What about camping?
We only have 2 camping/truck and camper spaces available at this time. Travel trailers are not recommended due to the 20 km rocky gravel road.
