What is supplied with a cabin rental?
All cabins come fully equipped with all cooking, serving and eating utensils. Cabins have propane stoves, electric fridges, and cold running water. The Hillbilly is the only cabin with hot water and full private bathroom. When you rent any one of the cabins you will get the use of one rowboat.
Do you have power?
Yes, but not full-time. We have power supplied by a generator for a couple of hours in the morning and for a timed 4.5 hour cycle each evening.
What about beds and bedding?
The 2 bedroom cabins have a double bed and a twin bed in each room. The 1 bedroom cabins have one queen and the other has two queens. The beds are made up with fresh fitted sheets, pillows and pillowcases for each guest. Bring your own blankets/bedding or sleeping bags. If you forget your bedding it can be rented for an additional fee.
What about bathrooms?
All of the 1 & 2 bedroom cabins rely on a central washhouse with hot showers and flush toilets.
What about drinking water?
The water at The Rustic Resort is supplied by underground spring and is therefore under a boil water notice at this time. There is a 5 Gallon water jug supplied for drinking water in each cabin, or you can bring your own drinking water. Additional bottles are available at the lodge for an additional cost.
What is the difference between the American Plan and a Cabin Rental?
We refer to the American Plan as the all-inclusive. It includes your accommodations, meals, bedding, fish cleaning, fish smoking, boats, electric motors etc. The cabin rentals have access to all the same lakes, but any extra services are at an additional cost.
Do you have a restaurant?
There is not a restaurant at the resort. The guests who have booked the American Plan are served their meals in the lodge. We serve all the guests buffet family style and do not offer a menu.
Do you sell any supplies at all?
We have a small supply of flies, tackle, ice, drinks, snacks and personal care items that you may have forgot for sale in the lodge. This is not a store for groceries.
Do you sell fishing licenses?
Yes, but it is so easy to do it yourself online that we actually prefer this. We have to do it online anyways, and since we only have access to the power when the generator is on it’s easier if you take care of this ahead of time!
What about outside fires and firewood?
Yes, there are fire pits that can be used if there is no fire ban in effect. We supply all of the firewood for each cabin.
What about cell phones and internet services?
We have a satellite phone at the lodge for emergency use only. We have WIFI at the lodge which is available in the morning and evenings from 7-9 in designated spots, or to get service on your cell phone it is about 10k down the road. There is not cell service or WIFI in the cabins.
What’s the road like to the lodge?
The road is good, but rocky. Take your time, leave your sports car at home, and you’ll have no problems. We are 21k off the highway 24 pavement.
What about pets?
Pets are welcome, for an additional fee. We ask that you don’t leave your pets unattended at any time during your stay. Dogs must be on a leash when outside of your cabin out of respect to the other guests. Please pick up after them and please don’t allow them on the furniture in the cabins!
What about camping?
Sorry – no camping! We are busy enough with just the cabins, and our 21K of gravel isn’t too kind to the larger RV’s!
